La fockea edulis It is one of the plants with caudex or caudiciforms that we can most often find in nurseries. It is very decorative and, in addition, it is quite easy to care for and maintain.
Undoubtedly, it is a species that cannot be missing from any collection, and even less so if you are a lover of this type of plants. 
fockea edulis is the scientific name of a species that was described by Stephan Ladislaus Endlicher and published in Novarum Stirpium Decades in 1839. It is a plant native to Africa, specifically along the coast of the African continent.
Although it may seem incredible to us, It is a vine that has large tubers and that reaches a height of up to 2 meters. The stems are glabrescent, and from them sprout leathery leaves of about 1,3 cm long by 0,5 wide, linear and dark green in color. The flowers are grouped in extra-axillary inflorescences, and give off a pleasant aroma.
If we talk about its care, we have to know that it is a relatively easy plant to care for, that it will not give us any problem since, unlike many species of caudiciformes, the fockea edulis can be adapted to living indoors as long as you are in a room with plenty of natural light.
Irrigation has to be very little, especially during winter. As usual, We will water it once or twice a week during the hottest season, and once a month the rest of the year. Likewise, it is highly recommended to plant it in a pot with black peat mixed with perlite in equal parts or with pumice alone. In this way, we can be completely sure that it will have good growth.
The only downside is that does not resist frost, but I can tell you from experience that if they are of very short duration and are also very light (-1ºC for a few hours) it recovers well.
