sedum palmeri

Sedum palmeri is the scientific name of a succulent plant native to Mexico that was described by Sereno Watson in 1882. It has a rapid growth, developing creeping or hanging stems (depending on whether it is in the ground or in a pot) of no more than 15 centimeters tall.

It forms rosettes of lanceolate leaves ending in points whose margins tend to acquire a pinkish / reddish tone if they are continuously exposed to the sun. Towards the end of winter it produces small orange-yellow flowers, 1cm in diameter, but very showy.

If we talk about its cultivation, we just have to bear in mind that it must be in a sunny exposition (or in semi-shadow) and receive few risks since it resists drought but not waterlogging. For the rest, it can be both indoors - protected from drafts - and outside, as it resists frosts down to -9ºC.

In the case of wanting to multiply your sedum palmeri, nothing as easy as cut a stem in spring and plant it in a pot with universal culture substrate mixed with perlite, or with vermiculite alone.
