Sulcorebutia arenacea (before Rebutia arenacea) is the scientific name of an endemic species from Cochabamba (Bolivia) that was described by MartÃn Cárdenas Hermosa and published in the National Cactus and Succulent Journal 1961 the year. It is characterized by growing up to 5-13cm tall by 10cm wide. Its body is globose in shape and is made up of 30 ribs. The areolas are broad and cream-colored. From these sprout 14 to 16 rough, whitish-yellow or brown spines of about 0,4-2cm long. The central spine is absent.

Even so, it is important to remember to transplant it into a somewhat larger pot every two or three springs, and fertilize it with a liquid cactus fertilizer following the instructions specified on the product packaging.
